EST, S.A. was honoured to participate in the event “How to do Business with NCIA & NSPA”, promoted by idD Portugal Defence and attended at the invitation of AAPI, held at the historic Forte de São Julião da Barra in Oeiras, near NATO facilities in Portugal.
Representing EST were Mário Rodrigues and Madalena Simões, reaffirming the company’s commitment to developing capabilities and opportunities in strategic sectors related to Defence, Security and Critical Infrastructure.
In an international environment increasingly shaped by geopolitical challenges, growing defence requirements across Europe and the need for resilient supply chains, International Procurement has become a critical strategic function. The ability to identify qualified suppliers, develop local sourcing networks, ensure technical compliance and deliver agile procurement solutions is now a key success factor in complex international projects.
The presentations delivered by NCIA (NATO Communications and Information Agency) and NSPA (NATO Support and Procurement Agency) provided valuable insights into procurement processes, contracting mechanisms and the opportunities available for Portuguese companies within the NATO ecosystem. They also highlighted the increasingly important role that national industry can play in supporting NATO missions, capabilities and infrastructure programmes.
For EST, whose activities span multiple international markets, this event represented an excellent opportunity to deepen knowledge, strengthen institutional relationships and explore potential collaborations in high-value projects.
Participation in this initiative further reinforces the strategic importance of International Procurement as a driver of competitiveness, innovation and operational excellence, helping to connect Portuguese industry with major international programmes in defence, energy, infrastructure and technology.
