The innovative computer system MEDICHECK, fully researched and developed by the EST over these five years, is now a reality!

It all started in 2005! The idea came and in November 2005 MEDICHECK won the Innovation Award, in the 4th edition of INOVALEIRA, promoted by ANJE.


MEDICHECK is an innovative computer system that decreases almost completely the probability of human error in prescribing and administering drugs, since human intervention and manual transcription of data regarding the medicine prescription and administration is practically null.

The main goal of MEDICHECK is to ensure safety in medication administration.

The implementation of the 1st MEDICHECK System occurred last June 28 at the Pediatrics Department in Hospital St. André (HSA).

Being aware of the high number of errors existing in the administration of medicines, which often leads to irreversible damage, it is a huge step for EST and HAS, in order to avoid these errors and improve the safety of hospitalized children through a system of high modernity and functionality.

The right medicine for the right child, the right dose, the right route of administration and at the right time.
